With the Grace of God

and as an expression of their faith and love for Him and His Holy Church

and with the blessings of His Eminence, Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey, and the prayers, support and encouragement of the Reverend Clergy and Greek Orthodox Communities of the Greater Baltimore, MD area,

the dedicated and faithful Greek Orthodox Christians of

BELAIR, MARYLAND

united in Faith and in Love, organized a new Community of love and a Parish in which the Gospel of the Lord and the truths of our Holy Orthodox Faith shall be taught and instilled in the hearts of all and especially the generations which shall follow.

This Eucharistic Community and the newly instituted Ecclesiastical Parish, upon the recommendation of the faithful Orthodox Christians which comprise it has been dedicated and offered in honor of

St. Mary Magdalene, the equal to the Apostles (July 22)

and

St. Markella of Chios  (July 22)

The sacred service of the blessing of the waters (Agiasmos) and initial dedication of the new temporary House of Worship was celebrated on

Saturday, September 9, 2006

May our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Whose most Holy Name and glory this new Ecclesiastical Institution and Parish was established, may He continue to bless all peoples of the earth and all who pursue Him, believe in Him, live in Him and contribute through their acts of faith in the sacred ministry of our

Holy Orthodox Church.
